The Tiny Town Orlando Community Library

Tiny Town Orlando is buzzing with excitement as residents celebrate the launch of one of our most meaningful new additions — the Tiny Town Community Library, a free outdoor neighborhood library book box built entirely by residents, for residents.

Located within the Tiny Town Orlando tiny house community at Lake Fairview at College Park, this charming two-foot-by-two-foot library may be small in size, but it represents something much bigger: connection, creativity, and the shared values that define community living.

Designed as a “take a book, leave a book” library, the Tiny Town Community Library offers a welcoming place for neighbors to exchange stories, slow down, and connect through reading — right in the heart of our tiny home neighborhood.

From One Neighbor’s Idea to a Community-Built Library

The idea for the Tiny Town Community Library began with Eddy, a thoughtful resident who wanted to create a simple book exchange as a surprise for his neighbor, Hailey. What started as a quiet personal project quickly evolved into a collaborative effort that brought the entire community together.

As Eddy began building the structure, another resident snapped a photo and shared it in the Tiny Town group chat. Almost immediately, neighbors responded with excitement. By Sunday morning, residents were showing up ready to lend a hand. What could have been a solo project became a spontaneous community build fueled by shared enthusiasm.

Neighbors stopped by while walking their dogs, offering encouragement, assistance, and promises to donate books once the library was complete. This organic collaboration perfectly reflects the spirit of Tiny Town Orlando — where neighbors don’t just live near one another, they build together.

The Tiniest House in Tiny Town Orlando

True to the character of our neighborhood, the Tiny Town Community Library was designed to mirror the aesthetic of the tiny homes around it. Rather than a standard book box, residents transformed the original idea into a miniature tiny house — officially the tiniest tiny house in Tiny Town Orlando.

Built entirely by residents, the community library features:

  • Solid two-by-four framing
  • Half-inch plywood construction
  • Durable Hardy Board siding to match the community’s homes
  • A shingled A-frame roof with drip-edge flashing
  • A hinged, latchable plexiglass front door for weather protection and easy access
  • Mounted on a solid four-by-four post stand and anchored with a poured concrete base located roadside in the center of Tiny Town Orlando community.

Every detail reflects the same craftsmanship, care, and intentional design found throughout Tiny Town Orlando’s tiny house rentals and long-term homes.
